Can I see you for therapy?

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in California (PSY34269) and New York (020357), however I am not presently accepting new patients. If you are looking for a licensed mental health professional, these resources will help you navigate the process.

I want to learn more about psychology.

This playlist is a great place to start. If you’re an undergraduate student majoring in psychology, consider joining Psi Chi.

If you’re interested in psychology or mental health as a career, watch these videos. I also recommend reading this website to learn more about graduate school in psychology.

I get a lot of questions from people outside of the United States. I have zero experience as a psychologist in other countries. I encourage you to speak to individuals who work in your country. A national psychological association is a great place to start if you’re looking for direction or mentorship.

Can I interview you?

Journalists: I’m happy to speak with you if I am uniquely qualified to answer your question and also have the availability to meet your deadline. Shoot me an email and let me know in the subject this is for a press interview. If I’m not a good fit, I’ll try to direct you to another colleague.

TV/Film/YouTube/Podcasts: I love collaborating with other producers and creators but have limited time to do so. Send me an email letting me know in the subject this is a media opportunity. I decide what to take on based upon whether my voice can uniquely add to the story and my availability.

Students: Sorry, but I can’t help. I love psychology students and I’m flooded with requests for help with class assignments. There’s just no way for me to figure out who to say yes to and who to say no to. Try searching thePsychology Today database to find a mental health professional in your local area.

Will you speak at my organization?

I am available for speaking opportunities. My approach is to use personal stories to simplify big ideas into actionable steps. You can see what this looks like in my TEDx talk and my Talks at Google. Titles of my most requested talks include:

  • Everyday courage in the face of anxiety

  • Making mental health part of your story

  • Embrace awkward silences for more productive teams

  • The psychology of success requires failure

  • Navigating our immediate, online, artificial lives

  • TV for your mental health

  • Mental health across generations

  • Community is the solution to our mental health crisis

  • What I wish I knew before I lost my brother to suicide

Send me an email with speaking opportunity in the subject and we can discuss if I’m a good fit for your event.
